For Prospective Access Producers

Becoming a Certified Access Producer or Playback Producer

What is a Certified Access Producer?

A Certified Access Producer is a U.S. resident that has taken and passed a BRONXNET Studio, Field or Podcasting class AND is certified to use BRONXNET facilities and/or equipment.

In order to have access to our studios and/or field equipment, you would need to complete one of the mentioned certification courses.  Completing the Studio Production course will allow you to request reservations to use our studio at Lehman College, Mercy University, or our new BronxNet Media and Technology Studios in the South Bronx to create your show. Completion of the Field Production course allows you to reserve field equipment for producing your work outside the studio – a camera kit, microphone, tripod, and light kit.

We offer consistent weekly, bi-weekly or monthly time slots for Certified Access Producers and the required lengths are 29:00 minutes exactly for half-hour shows and 59:00 minutes exactly for hour-long shows.

A Playback Producer is an individual residing in the Bronx or outside of the Bronx, who does not need access to BRONXNET facilities and/or equipment in order to create programming for BRONXNET’s designated public access channels.

A Playback Producer can simply send their content to us using our upload page. After the Quality Control process, you will receive an email either letting you know the show is good to go for air or that there is a technical or content issue that prevents it from being aired.

We offer consistent weekly, bi-weekly or monthly time slots for Playback Producers with shows with episodes that are 28:00, 28:30, or 29:00 minutes exactly OR 58:00, 58:30 or 59:00 minutes exactly. Special time slots are provided to content that are of any duration outside of the durations previously mentioned. This is a great option for music videos, short films, feature-length films, and limited events.
