Early Literacy: Family Activity Time!

Westchester Square Library has different activity for ages 5 and under with caregiver, either arts and craft or toys and socialization for children. This event starts at 11:30 am.

Arts Culture Fun Jazz Foundation Series Arthur Green at the Poe Park Visitor Center

Saxophonist Arthur Green has a deep, soulful tone; with roots in Virginia and then playing trumpet in the Navy Band. Green leads his own band The Green Machine, featuring an appealing blend of jazz, funk, blues, and R&B. This event starts at 2:00 pm.

The Orchid Show at the New York Botanical Garden

Now in its 17th year, The Orchid Show is a dazzling tribute to Singapore, the vibrant “City in a Garden” where these storied flowers are an integral part of the culture and landscape. It will showcase thousands of orchids in every shape, color, and size. This event starts at 10:00 am.

NYRR Open Run: St. Mary's Park!

Open Run is a community-based, volunteer-led running initiative bringing free weekly runs and walks to local neighborhood parks. All runs are free to participants. The finish line is open until the last person is done. The courses vary based on the park, but the courses are between 2.5 and 3 miles long. This event starts at 9:00 am.

Edenwald Green Neighborhood Forest Restoration at Seton Falls Park

Join NYC Parks Stewardship's monthly Green Neighborhood event in Edenwald, Bronx! Volunteers will learn how to identify and safely remove invasive plants in order to help protect forested areas in Seton Falls Park and create a healthier ecosystem.

Volunteers should dress in clothes that can get dirty and closed-toed shoes. Registration required. This event starts at 9:00 am.

Family Art Project: Ubuntu at Wave Hill

The African term ubuntu, which means humanity towards others in Nguni-Bantu, serves as the cornerstone for visiting artist Tijay Mohammed’s art project, which is inspired by his mother.  Anchored in West African cultural traditions, the project focuses attention on our connections to migration. This event starts at 10:00 am.

Coffee & Connections at Morrisania Library

For people who are experiencing homelessness or who know someone who is homeless. New York has many great resources and services for people experiencing homelessness but it can be challenging to gain access to them.

Stay Well Exercise at Pelham Bay Library

Join a fun exercise class for all ability levels! Volunteers trained by the Health Promotion Services unit of NYC’s Department for the Aging will lead participants in a well-balanced series of exercises for all ability levels.
