This special edition of “Modern Odyssey” with Dr. Despina Afentouli pays a tribute to The Kassian Benevolent Society of America, also known as The Kassian Brotherhood on the occasion of Holocaust Remembrance Day of the Greek island of Kasos. Dr. Afentouli interviews the president, George Mastromanolis, and the vice-President, Nikolaos Papageorgiou, of The Kassian Brotherhood in the Bronx. Kasos island is geographically located in the Aegean Sea, between Karpathos and Crete islands in Greece. The Kassian Brotherhood was founded in 1930 in NYC and relocated to the Bronx in 1967, and is the largest community from Kasos in the U.S.A. Modern Odyssey features interviews with leaders, artists, scientists, and prime movers on issues that aim to inspire.
