Performing The Bronx: Two and Us

Performing The Bronx: Two and Us For the next chapter of "Performing the Bronx" Nicolás Dumit Estévez Raful Espejo works three iconic women in our borough: Rhina Valentin, Rokafella, and Lisa Ortega, focusing on the day-to-day of the Bronx, as well as that of the protagonists. Some of the central themes that emerge in this chapter revolve around moving through our streets, the pulse of our neighborhoods and its peoples, activism in our communities, and some of the daily urban rituals that inform our lives, including those we engage with during the current pandemic. These rituals, in the case of Rhina, entail connecting with nature, while still fully rooted in the city. We envision documenting the process in video and sharing this with a wider audience via a conversation between Rhina Valentin, Rokafella, Lisa Ortega, and Nicolás to be aired live on TV, as well as through FB and Zoom. Bronxnet is the ideal channel for this to happen, given its strong Connections to the Bronx.
